Job Summary

The Backend Engineer will be responsible for building and maintaining scalable backend services that power the platform’s core payment and integration systems. The role focuses on developing secure, high-performance APIs and ensuring reliability across a fast-growing fintech environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable backend services using Python (Django) and PostgreSQL
• Design and integrate APIs, payment flows, and third-party services
• Optimize database performance, security, and system reliability
• Collaborate with frontend, product, and operations teams to deliver new features
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Support infrastructure, deployments, and monitoring of production systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner
• Ensure high standards of security and data protection (critical for fintech)
• Contribute to system architecture and scalability improvements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 5–7 years of experience in backend development
• Strong experience in fintech or payment-related platforms is preferred
• Experience working in a startup or scaling environment is a plus
• Strong experience with Python, Django, and PostgreSQL
• Experience in building and integrating APIs and payment systems
• Knowledge of database optimization and system performance
• Understanding of system design and scalable architectures
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
• Ability to work independently and take ownership
• Good communication and collaboration skills
• Business-oriented mindset
• Proficient in development tools and environments
• Experience with deployment, monitoring, and debugging tools
• Fluent English
