Role Summary & Location

As a Software Engineer at Acuity, you're a key contributor to a cross-functional Agile squad focused on developing innovative software for industry-leading IoT lighting and sensing systems. In this role you’ll work closely with other developers, product owners, and QA engineers to design, build, test, and maintain cloud and mobile-connected components. This role is ideal for those eager to grow their development skills in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

This role works remotely from the United States.

Primary Responsibilities Include

Contribute to feature development, bug fixes, and enhancements in front-end or back-end components.
Write clean, maintainable, and testable code in languages and frameworks such as C#, JavaScript, or React.
Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
Collaborate with team members to understand requirements and ensure solutions meet technical and business needs.
Assist in writing unit and integration tests to ensure software quality.
Participate in peer code reviews and receive feedback to continuously improve.
Learn and apply development best practices, version control (Git), and automated testing tools.
Flexible and adaptable to changes in requirements or priorities, as Scrum values iterative and incremental delivery.

Skills and Minimum Experience Required

Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
1–3 years of professional back end software development experience, including proficiency in C# and Java programming languages and .NET and Node.js platforms.
Familiarity with DevOps tools and cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
Experience with version controls systems like Git.
Good problem-solving and communication skills.
Strong debugging skills.

Preferred Skills and Experience

Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Xunit, Nunit).
Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD).

The range for this position is $93,000.00 to $167,400.00. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant’s experience and geographic location.
