Compensation: hourly $20-$30 based on experience

Known for exceptional service, quality craftsmanship, and a commitment to integrity, we are expanding our Metuchen team with a highly organized and detail-oriented back-office assistant to support our back-office operations.

Position Overview

The back-office assistant plays a key role in ensuring smooth store operations and accurate inventory management. This position involves receiving merchandise, processing invoices, entering inventory into our POS system, handling shipping tasks, running reports on our workshop, and supporting the store manager with daily logistics. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, tech-savvy, and comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and process incoming inventory
  • Verify invoices and match them with incoming merchandise
  • Verify back orders/sold orders when inventory arrives
  • Accurately enter products into the POS/inventory management system
  • Organize and label merchandise for showroom and stock storage
  • Prepare and ship customer orders, repairs, and vendor packages
  • Answer and organize store emails professionally and promptly
  • Assist the manager with day-to-day logistics
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through routine checks and audits
  • Run reports on our workshop
  • Support general administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in inventory, logistics, retail back-office, or administrative support preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
  • Comfortable working with computers, databases, and digital systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Dependable, professional, and trustworthy
