Job Description: Backend Engineer (AI Platform)

Title: Backend Engineer (Platform & APIs)
Department: AI Platform
Reports to: Head of AI/ML
Experience: 1–3 years (real backend systems)

Role Summary

This role builds the core platform that powers the AI Agent Marketplace.

You will not work on ML models.
You will not design prompts.

You will build:

• APIs
• Auth
• Billing
• Agent execution contracts
• Marketplace infrastructure

If your background is mostly frontend or CRUD apps, this is not a fit.

Core Responsibilities

Platform APIs

• Design and implement APIs for:
• Agent execution
• Marketplace discovery
• Usage tracking
• Billing & quotas
• Maintain backward compatibility and versioning

Auth & Access Control

• Implement org-level and role-based access
• Enforce agent-level permissions
• Secure SDK and API access

Agent Runtime Integration

• Integrate with AI runtime services
• Handle request orchestration
• Enforce execution constraints (timeouts, retries)
• Ensure deterministic behavior where possible

Data & Performance

• Design schemas for:
• Agent metadata
• Usage logs
• Billing records
• Optimize for low latency and high throughput
• Implement caching where appropriate

Required Skills (Must Have)

• Strong backend language (Python / Go / Java / Node)
• API design (REST, gRPC)
• Authentication & authorization systems
• Databases (Postgres, MongoDB,Redis, etc.)
• Experience with distributed systems

Strongly Preferred

• Experience with SaaS platforms
• Billing systems (Stripe or equivalent)
• Rate limiting & quota systems
• Event-driven architectures
• Security best practices

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs16,931.00 - Rs150,000.00 per month
