Backhoe Loader Operator (JCB/Case Operations)

Key Responsibilities

1. Machine Operation & Site Execution

• Earthmoving & Excavation: Operate the backhoe loader for various tasks including trenching for utilities, foundation excavation, backfilling, and leveling of surfaces as per site engineer instructions.
• Material Handling: Utilize the front loader bucket for moving bulk materials (sand, aggregate, debris) and loading trucks efficiently within the site premises.
• Precision Work: Execute fine grading and excavation near existing utilities or structural elements with high precision to avoid damage.
• Site Clearance: Assist in site mobilization, demobilization, and general housekeeping by removing waste and organizing material stockpiles.

2. Maintenance & Safety Compliance

• Daily Inspections: Conduct mandatory daily pre-operational checks, including fluid levels (oil, hydraulic, coolant), tire condition, bucket teeth, and hydraulic hose integrity.
• Routine Maintenance: Perform basic greasing and cleaning of the machine. Report any mechanical faults or required repairs immediately to the Plant Manager or Workshop Team.
• HSE Adherence: Follow all site safety rules, including the use of banksmen in tight areas, maintaining safe speeds, and ensuring the machine is safely parked and stabilized during downtime.
• Certification: Ensure the machine’s third-party certification and the operator's license are valid and available for inspection at all times.

3. Coordination & Reporting

• Collaboration: Coordinate closely with site foremen and banksmen to ensure safe and productive workflows in congested areas.
• Activity Logs: Maintain accurate daily logs of machine hours, fuel consumption, and tasks performed.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• License (Mandatory): Must possess a Valid UAE Heavy Equipment Driving License (Category 6).
• Experience: Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience as a Backhoe Loader Operator, with at least 3 years of experience on large-scale construction sites in the UAE/GCC.
• Technical Skills: * Expert proficiency in both backhoe (excavator) and loader operations.
• Strong understanding of soil types and safe trenching slopes.
• Ability to interpret basic site level markings and surveyor stakes.
• Language Skills: Basic proficiency in English is required for safety instructions; knowledge of Hindi/Urdu/Arabic is an advantage.
• Soft Skills: High level of concentration, spatial awareness, and a strong commitment to site safety.
