Backup Sitter / On-Call Childcare Provider

Position Type: Part-Time, On-Call
Schedule: Weekdays (minimum 4-hour shifts)
Ages Served: 6 months – 5 years
Location: Local families (various homes)

Pay rate: 30 -34/ hour

Position Overview:
We are seeking reliable, experienced backup sitters to provide on-call weekday childcare support for families experiencing last-minute schedule changes or childcare gaps. This role is ideal for caregivers who are flexible, dependable, and comfortable stepping into new home environments while maintaining consistent, high-quality care.

Responsibilities:

• Provide attentive, nurturing care for infants and young children (ages 6 months to 5 years)
• Step in for last-minute childcare needs due to schedule changes, school closures, or caregiver absences
• Support age-appropriate routines including feeding, naps, diapering, play, and supervision
• Engage children in developmentally appropriate activities in line with family preferences
• Maintain a safe, calm, and organized environment during each shift
• Communicate clearly with parents regarding daily routines and any updates during care

Requirements:

• 3- 5 years experience caring for infants and/or young children
• Must have a reliable personal vehicle and valid driver’s license
• Ability to commit to a minimum of 4-hour weekday shifts
• Comfortable traveling to various local family homes
• Dependable, punctual, and adaptable to different family routines
• Strong communication skills and professional demeanor
