Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Baker to support our Lead Baker in a high-volume, scratch bakery program within our catering kitchen. This role assists with the preparation and production of a wide variety of baked goods made from scratch.

The ideal candidate has previous bakery experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently while following established recipes and direction. Candidates should be dependable, adaptable, and able to maintain a positive and professional attitude in a fast-paced environment.

This is a seasonal position, and hours may vary depending on business levels and catering demand.

Essential Job Duties

  • Assist the Lead Baker with the preparation and production of a variety of scratch-made baked goods.
  • Accurately follow recipes, production schedules, and preparation instructions.
  • Measure, mix, shape, bake, and finish bakery items according to quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary bakery work environment.
  • Assist with ingredient scaling, prep work, and production staging.
  • Communicate effectively with the Lead Baker and kitchen team to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Support kitchen operations during high-volume production periods.
  • Assist with additional kitchen tasks as needed to support overall production.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a bakery or commercial kitchen required.
  • Experience working in high-volume food production environments preferred.
  • Ability to follow instructions, recipes, and established processes.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Reliable, adaptable, and able to maintain focus during busy production periods.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Schedule & Availability

This position requires a flexible schedule based on business needs. Availability must include:

  • Early mornings
  • Weekends
  • Holidays
  • Overtime as needed

Hours may vary week to week depending on catering and production demand.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods of time (entire shift).
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motions.
  • Ability to safely work around hot ovens, mixers, sharp utensils and commercial kitchen equipment.

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $23.00–$25.00, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications. Compensation is determined based on multiple factors including experience and internal equity.
