A Baker Chef de Partie (CDP) is responsible for preparing and baking a variety of high-quality bakery products, including breads, pastries, cakes, and desserts, while ensuring consistency, presentation, and strict adherence to hygiene standards. This role involves managing daily production, maintaining cleanliness, operating equipment, potentially supervising junior staff, and contributing to menu development under the guidance of a Head Baker or Sous Chef.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation & Production:
Prepare and bake a range of fresh products like breads, croissants, cakes, and pastries according to standard recipes and quality guidelines.
Quality Control:
Ensure that all baked goods meet high-quality standards in taste, texture, appearance, and presentation.
Hygiene & Safety:
Maintain a high level of cleanliness, organization, and food safety in the bakery workstation and equipment, following all regulations.
Inventory & Supplies:
Monitor and manage bakery inventory, assisting with ingredient ordering and minimizing waste.
Equipment Operation:
Properly operate and maintain bakery equipment to ensure efficient and safe use and longevity.
Teamwork & Supervision:
Assist the Head Baker, collaborate with the culinary team, and potentially supervise and guide junior staff in the bakery section.
Menu Contribution:
Help in the development and creation of new bakery items, contributing creative ideas to menu planning.
