Preparation of Ingredients:
- Measure and prepare ingredients according to recipes.
- Mix, knead, and roll dough or batter for various baked goods like bread, pastries, and cakes.
- Assist with the preparation of fillings, icings, and other toppings.
Baking and Cooking:
- Operate and monitor ovens, mixers, and other baking equipment.
- Follow specific baking times and temperatures to ensure high-quality results.
- Inspect baked goods for quality, ensuring they are cooked to the correct texture, color, and size.
Decorating and Finishing:
- Decorate cakes, pastries, and other baked goods with icing, glazes, or toppings.
- Follow design specifications for special orders or seasonal themes.
- Ensure consistency in appearance and quality of products.
Packaging and Labeling:
- Package baked goods in boxes, bags, or trays for display or customer orders.
- Label products with accurate information, such as name, ingredients, and expiration date.
- Arrange items in displays to ensure an attractive and organized presentation.
Customer Service:
- Assist customers by answering questions and providing recommendations.
- Take and process orders for special requests or custom cakes.
- Handle payments and ensure accurate transactions when working the register.
Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized work area, including baking equipment and utensils.
- Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure hygienic conditions.
- Wash dishes, trays, and other baking tools regularly.
Inventory and Stocking:
- Keep track of inventory, restocking ingredients and supplies as needed.
- Report low stock items to management to ensure timely reordering.
- Organize storage areas to ensure easy access to ingredients and tools.
Assisting with Daily Operations:
- Support fellow bakery team members during peak hours.
- Participate in opening and closing procedures, including equipment checks and securing items.
- Assist in unloading and storing deliveries.
Skills and Qualifications:
Preferred: Experience in baking or food preparation.
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and consistently.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift moderately heavy items.
- Strong attention to detail, especially for decoration and presentation.
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and handling transactions.
