Bank Teller

Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly service to our customers through the performance of normal teller activities, problem-solving, and cross selling of Bank's services.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform such duties as processing of withdrawals and deposits, check cashing, balance inquiries, sale of money orders and treasurer’s checks processing of loan payments, processing and balancing of ATM, processing night deposit bags and courier bags, redemption of U.S. Savings Bonds, balancing of cash drawer, providing proper security procedures for safe deposit box entry and/or exit, processing cash advances, cross-selling of bank products and services, completion of CTRs and SARs, and handling customer inquiries in a proficient manner.

2. Maintain storage records for banking floor items, i.e cash settlement sheets, correspondence, etc.

3. Proficiently handle/balance a cash drawer and perform branch end-of-day settlement.

4. Provide high quality customer service with quick and accurate processing of customer requests in accordance with American Bank policies and procedures.

5. Proactively identify and refer customers to American Bank specialists who sell specific products and services.

6. Maintain high-level knowledge of policies, procedures, products, and services to accommodate customer requests.

7. Effectively communicate with customers, co-workers, and bank management.

8. Recommend changes that would improve service levels and efficiency in the delivery of American Bank’s products and services to customers.

9. Maintain a good understanding and working knowledge relating to bank compliance regulations, bank policies and procedures, including related Bank Secrecy Act policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.

Additional Requirements:

Prior cash handling experience is required.

While the incumbent must work closely with all members of the organization, he or she is expected to work with a strong degree of initiative and independence regarding assigned responsibilities.

Organizational skills, effective interpersonal skills, and a strong work ethic are also necessary to effectively carry out assigned responsibilities.

The incumbent must also demonstrate the ability and willingness to accept changing priorities and assume different or additional responsibilities based on the needs of the organization.
