Bank Teller (Seasonal)

Gouverneur Savings & Loan Association is looking to fill a Seasonal Teller position in our Alexandria Bay Branch. GSL is looking for a college student who is interested in working until they return to college in the Fall and possibly when they return on breaks. We are looking for someone who is dependable and organized. Cash handling experience, good communication skills and the ability to work in a fast paced environment are key.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Receives checks and cash for deposit to accounts, verifies amounts, examines checks for proper endorsement, and enters deposits into computer records.*

Cashes checks and processes withdrawals, pays out money after verification of signatures customer balances.*

Receives commercial, mortgage, consumer loan, and other payments and ensures the payments match balances due.*

Enters payments into computer and generates customer receipts.*

Places hold on uncollected funds.*

Counts, checks, and packages coins and currency.*

Processes credit card transactions.*

Balances cash drawer or cash recycler at the end of the shift and compares totaled amounts to computer-generated proof sheet and reports any discrepancies to the supervisor as necessary.*

Ensures that the Teller station is properly stocked with forms and supplies.*

Reports malfunctions of Teller terminals, cash recyclers and other equipment used at the teller station.*

Performs other duties as assigned and directed by management.
