Banquet Cook - Embassy Suites Seattle Downtown Pioneer Square

The Embassy Suites has 282 guest rooms and nearly 15,000 square feet of event space. They are steps away from football and soccer games at Lumen Field and less than a half mile from baseball at T-Mobile Park. Union Station is a block east for easy access to attractions, like Int'l District, the Space Needle and Pike Place. The property also has a health club including a heated indoor pool, sun deck, and equipment including a Peloton® Bike with toe cages. They also provide a free breakfast and complimentary evening reception.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Minimum of 1-2 years' experience as a cook, line cook, banquet cook
Hot line experience with special attention to cooking proteins to proper temperatures
Good knife skills
Previous hotel restaurant or banquet experience highly preferred!
Open availability including ability to work nights, weekends and holidays
Schedule: varies, must be available to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
Wage: $27.93 per hour and will go up to $31.03 after a successful probationary period. The rate is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.

What will I be doing?
As a Cook, you would be responsible for preparing food items in accordance with recipes and established standards in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
Prepare food items according to designated recipes and quality standards
Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards at all times
Manage guest orders in a friendly, timely and efficient manner
Ensure knowledge of menu and all food products
Stock and maintain designated food station(s)
Visually inspect all food sent from the kitchen
Practice correct food handling and food storage procedures according to federal, state, local and company regulations
Prepare requisitions for supplies and food items, as needed
