JOB DESCRIPTION
The Banquet Server is responsible for providing exceptional service to guests during hotel banquets, meetings, and special events. This role ensures proper food and beverage service, setup and breakdown of banquet rooms, and maintains a professional, attentive, and guest-focused presence throughout events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Set up:
  • Ensure proper placement of china, glassware and silverware on tables.
  • Ensure proper placement of chaffers, condiments, heat lamps, utensils, etc. on buffet tables.
  • Decorate buffets utilizing height, fluff, props, and flower arrangements.
  • Prepare dressing, creamer, butter, rolls, salt, pepper, coffee & tea.
  • Polish silverware and fold napkins.
Service:
  • Stand at attention 15 minutes prior of doors opening for a function.
  • Meet and greet guests as they are seated.
  • Helps guests with their napkin and seating.
  • Inform guests of all courses that will be served.
  • Serve and cover all beverage needs, serve and clear all food.
  • Anticipates all guest needs during service.
  • Load trays with entrees.
  • Lift and carry trays, at shoulder height, into room and places at station.
  • Clear each course to stations and serve the next.
  • Exceed guest expectations, with proper attitude and prompt service.
  • Thank guests after functions.
Clean Up:
  • Put all items of service on trays for removal, carry trays out.
  • Clear all linen – dirty linen is put into bags and then transferred to laundry carts.

REQUIREMENTS
  • At least 6 months serving experience in a restaurant or banquet setting.
  • Must be able to verbally communicate clearly with guests and fellow employees.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift heavy objects including full serving trays.
HOURS
Due to the business demands of the hospitality industry, and the fact that the hotel provides guest services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year- any employee may be required to work rotating shifts, including weekends, night shifts, and/or overtime. Also, depending on business demands, hours may be reduced at any time.
