Banquet Waitstaff

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsibilities include preparing waters, butters, creamers, including the setup, stock, and maintaining of meeting rooms.

  • Refresh meeting rooms during meals and coffee breaks.

  • Clean and return equipment to proper location.

  • Must be able to follow instructions on the Banquet Event Order.

  • Must be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must be able to professionally represent the venue and the company to all our guests and achieve 100% guest satisfaction.

  • Keep captains and managers updated to any staff, facility or guest concerns.

  • Must be able to clean, as it is required, during setup and breakdown of each event.

  • Must be able to clean and stock appropriate work areas.

  • Must be able to relate to and approach guests in a warm, welcoming demeanor.

  • Must be able to follow written and/or spoken direction from supervisors for assignments.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, fellow employees and management.

  • Must be able to work in a team of two or more, with team spirit.

  • Must be able to attend training sessions and meetings, as scheduled by management.

  • Must clock in and be ready to work at scheduled time.

  • Must communicate with management if unable to work a specific shift.

  • Employee is responsible for turning in availability to banquet manager detailing any shift requests two (2) weeks in advance.

  • Employee is responsible for confirming his or her own schedule each week.

  • If an employee switches a shift with another employee, or works in another department, the Banquet Manager must approve it.

  • Must help maintain a positive morale in the work environment and discourage idle, disruptive gossip.

  • Must check with management before taking breaks or leaving at the end of a shift.

  • While on the service floor: NO gum chewing, eating or drinking, leaning on walls or bars, sitting, dancing, cell phones or headphones.

  • Perform any additional tasks, duties or responsibilities assigned to this position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.

  • Requires the ability to communicate with guests in English.

  • Minimum 1 year of Banquet Houseperson experience preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Requires full mobility for entire duration of shift, including walking and standing for a period of up to eight (8) hours.

  • Must be able to safely grasp, lift, carry or otherwise move items weighing up to 50lbs.

  • Must be able to bend and reach.
