You also need fundamental coffee knowledge, including different brewing methods and bean types, and the ability to maintain a clean workspace and coffee equipment. Technical Skills

• Espresso Extraction:This involves understanding how to operate an espresso machine, grind beans, and pull a quality espresso shot.
• Milk Steaming & Frothing:Mastering the art of steaming milk to achieve the correct texture and temperature is crucial for milk-based drinks.
• Latte Art:Learning to create decorative patterns in coffee with steamed milk is a key skill that requires practice.
• Brewing Methods:Knowledge of various coffee brewing techniques, like pour-over and French press, is essential.

Coffee Knowledge

• Coffee Beans:Baristas should understand different types of coffee beans, their origins, and how they affect the taste.
• Menu Knowledge:Knowing how to prepare standard coffee and tea drinks, including distinctions between lattes, cappuccinos, and other beverages, is fundamental.
• Equipment:Understanding the basic operation and maintenance of coffee grinders, espresso machines, and other bar equipment is important.

Customer Service & Soft Skills

• Customer Service:Excellent communication skills are needed to greet customers, take orders, and provide recommendations.
