Barista

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and customer-oriented Barista to join our team. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining a clean and inviting environment. Your role will be essential in creating a positive experience for our customers while ensuring that all food safety and handling standards are met.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages according to established recipes and customer preferences.
• Operate the cash register efficiently, handling transactions accurately and providing change as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area, including equipment, utensils, and seating areas to ensure a welcoming atmosphere.
• Assist customers with menu selections, providing recommendations based on their preferences.
• Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, syrups, pastries, and other supplies; assist in ordering as necessary.
• Adhere to food safety standards and proper food handling techniques at all times.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operation during busy periods.
• Engage with customers to create a friendly environment and encourage repeat business.

Qualifications

• Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
• Previous experience in food service or the food industry is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with cash registers and point-of-sale (POS) systems; experience with Aloha POS is a plus.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations related to food handling is essential.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
• A positive attitude and willingness to help others are crucial for success in this role.
