Barista

Job Summary
Our West Ashley location is a fun, laid back job with great people, great regulars, and an opportunity for a flexible schedule that still allows you to have a life outside of work.

Starting pay is $13/hour plus tips which typically average out to +2 dollars hourly not including cash. Automatic 50 cent raise yearly with potential for more based on performance. Typical shifts are 5:30am -1:00pm, 7:00am-3:00pm, and 1:00pm- 8:30pm. We open 1 hour later on weekends.

As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages and providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. Your role will involve not only preparing coffee and other drinks but also creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers. Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other drinks according to established recipes and standards.
• Operate the cash register and handle cash transactions accurately, ensuring all sales are processed efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including the coffee station, dining area, and equipment.
• Assist with food preparation and handling, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
• Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure timely service without compromising quality.
• Utilize POS systems (including Aloha POS) for order processing and inventory management.
• Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a barista or food service role is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures is highly desirable.
• Basic math skills to handle transactions accurately.
• Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and beverage recipes is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact positively with customers and team members.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• A commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety in accordance with regulations.
