Barista

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our vibrant café team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, prepare high-quality coffee and food items, and maintain a clean and welcoming environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in food service, retail math, and POS systems within a dynamic café setting.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks using standard recipes and equipment.
• Handle food preparation tasks, including basic food handling, safety, and cleanliness standards.
• Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing, cash handling, and sales transactions.
• Provide excellent customer service by taking orders, answering questions, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including cleaning equipment, counters, and dining spaces.
• Manage cash register operations accurately, including cashiering and retail math calculations.
• Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed.
• Follow food safety protocols and adhere to health regulations at all times.
• Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Barista or in food service is preferred; experience with coffee preparation is a plus.
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Square & Toast POS.
• Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy hours.
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude.
• Ability to perform basic math for cash handling, sales transactions, and retail math calculations.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of the food industry and retail math concepts. This position provides an engaging work environment where team members can grow their skills in coffee service, customer relations, and food safety standards while delivering memorable experiences to our customers.
