We're a specialty coffee and tea cafe at 2940 Canal Street. Witch-themed, but not in a kitschy skulls-on-the-walls way; it's more herbal and candle-lit than haunted. We opened in January 2026 and have been growing faster than we expected, so we need another barista.
You'd pull shots, steam milk, run the POS, and build drinks off the signature menu. Some of those have real builds, not just syrup pumps.You'd restock and clean, keep the flow moving during a rush, learn the tea menu well enough to make honest recommendations, and hold a conversation with a regular without letting the bar back up.
A year on a real bar or equivalent café experience. You actually drink coffee and you care about what ends up in the cup. You don't have to be a QG-level pro, but if you've never pulled a shot, this isn't the role. You can keep your head in a rush. You don't vanish when there's cleaning to do.
We're three months old. Some days we're testing a new cold foam recipe and the bar is messy. Some days Deanna brings in a pie that sells out before 10. We care more about building something that lasts on Canal Street than about scaling it up fast, which means we care a lot about who works here.
One piece of context: 0.25% of every coffee sale goes to Tomato Club Rescue, a local nonprofit that takes in orphaned neonatal kittens, the ones other shelters can't handle. We put it in the job post because it matters to us.
