Barista

We are seeking an experienced Barista to work at our café and retail shop at Margaritaville (Restaurant) located in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. A Barista-Retail Associate is responsible for taking food and beverage orders from guests. Preparing food, coffee and beverages and assisting retail customers. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will contribute to a lively, welcoming atmosphere that keeps guests coming back. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in food service, guest relations, and hospitality operations while working in a fast-paced environment.

Coffee shop hours are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

AM shift starts at 6:30 a.m. and PM shifts start at 1 p.m.

Duties

• Provide excellent customer service to our guests
• Prepare food, coffee and beverages
• Make sandwiches and other related food prep
• Follow steps of service and always remain guest focused
• Operate Point-of-Sale System (register)
• Assist with retail sales
• Stock retail merchandise
• Maintain inventory and replenish supplies

Requirements and skills

· Applicants MUST be authorized to work in the United States

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work well with others
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including opening, closing, weekends and holidays
• Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
• Familiar with industry’s best practices

· Previous experience in the USVI/Caribbean preferred
