Barista

The Barista is responsible for creating an experience for our students, staff and other customers by providing them with quality beverages prompt service and exceptional customer service, while also maintaining a clean and comfortable café environment. This is at our Starbucks located in our student commons.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide hot and cold quality beverages consistently for all customers by complying to all recipe and presentation standards.

Clean and restock work-space so that team members have access to resources and products as needed. Follow health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products.

Follow Pickens Café operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety and security, to ensure the safety of all team members during each shift.

Contribute to a successful team environment by assisting with the training of new employees, communicating relevant information to the team and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed.

Provide excellent customer service by welcoming customers, anticipating customer needs while maintaining a calm and positive demeanor to keep the café running with integrity and honesty that promotes the culture, values and mission of Pickens Technical College.

Receive and process payments.

Monitor and maintain inventory by ordering supplies, maintaining accurate inventory records and reconciling any discrepancies.

Perform other duties as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent, including GED is required.

No experience required. Experience as a Barista preferred.

Strong communication skills, works well under pressure, strong planning skills, ability to multi-task, strong attention to detail.

Criminal background check required at hire.
