Barista

We are looking for a Barista/Server to prepare and serve food and beverages, including various types of coffee, tea, beer and wine. Job responsibilities include educating customers on our menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling special items and taking orders. To be successful in this role, you should have customer service skills and a base knowledge of coffee, beer and wine. Experience is not required, but appreciated. You should be able to work various shifts.

Note: this position’s compensation includes hourly pay and tips.

Must be available for nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers as they enter
• Give customers drink menus and answer their questions regarding ingredients
• Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee, food substitutions, dine in/take out, etc.)
• Prepare beverages following recipes
• Serve beverages and prepared food, like pastries, sandwiches and snacks.
• Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards)
• Keep the bar area clean
• Maintain store lobby
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
• Work 8 hour standing shifts
• Comply with health and safety regulations
• Ensure proper transportation to and from work

Skills

• Previous work experience as a Barista or Server
• Hands-on experience with brewing equipment
• Knowledge of sanitation regulations
• Flexibility to work various shifts
• Ability to gauge customers’ preferences
• Excellent communication skills

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
