JOB PURPOSE
The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee, beverages, and food items while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining company standards in hygiene, presentation, and operational efficiency.
The Barista plays a key role in creating a positive guest experience and supporting daily café operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESBeverage Preparation
- Prepare and serve coffee, espresso-based drinks, tea, and other beverages according to company recipes and standards.
- Ensure consistency in beverage quality, taste, and presentation.
- Operate coffee machines, grinders, and related equipment properly.
- Monitor beverage preparation times to ensure efficient service.
Customer Service
- Greet customers professionally and provide friendly service.
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Recommend products and promote upselling opportunities.
- Handle guest inquiries and complaints professionally.
Operational Duties
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee station and service area.
- Refill and restock supplies, ingredients, and disposables.
- Ensure proper opening and closing procedures are followed.
- Assist in inventory checks and stock rotation.
Hygiene & Food Safety
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
- Ensure coffee machines and equipment are cleaned and maintained properly.
- Comply with municipality and company health regulations.
Cash Handling & POS
- Process transactions accurately using POS systems.
- Handle cash, card payments, and billing procedures responsibly.
- Ensure proper cash reconciliation during shift closing.
Teamwork & Communication
- Work closely with kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Support team members during busy operational hours.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience as a Barista or in F&B service preferred.
- Knowledge of coffee preparation and café operations.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic English communication required.
