Barista Cashier

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and other beverages according to established recipes and standards
• Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for accurate order processing and cash handling
• Greet customers warmly, take their orders efficiently, and provide excellent customer service throughout their visit
• Manage cash register operations, including cash handling, credit card transactions, and balancing cash drawers at shift end
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food preparation stations and seating areas
• Follow food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures to ensure quality and safety standards are met
• Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling snacks or light food items as needed
• Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly while maintaining accuracy in transactions
• Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales opportunities

Skills

• Proven experience as a barista with knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and beverage customization
• Previous cashiering experience using POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests
• Excellent time management skills to handle high-volume periods efficiently
• Basic math skills for cash handling, giving correct change, and sales calculations
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures in a café or food service setting
• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Familiarity with retail math concepts related to sales and inventory management is a plus
