Barista Cashier

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista Cashier to join our vibrant café team at Con Azucar Cafe in SYLMAR CA. This role combines the art of crafting high-quality coffee and beverages with providing exceptional customer service at the register. The ideal candidate will have experience in coffee, familiarity with POS systems like Toast, and a passion for creating a welcoming environment for our guests. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in the Coffee industry while contributing to a positive customer experience.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and other beverages with attention to quality and presentation
• Operate POS systems such as Toast for accurate order processing and cash handling
• Greet customers warmly, take orders efficiently, and process payments accurately using cash, credit, or mobile payments
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food preparation stations and seating areas
• Ensure food safety standards are met during food handling and preparation
• Restock supplies as needed, including coffee beans, cups, lids, and condiments
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries and resolving any issues promptly
• Uphold health and safety regulations related to food handling and serving

Requirements

• Previous barista coffee experience preferred, especially within cafés environments
• Familiarity with Toast is highly desirable
• Strong time management skills to handle multiple orders efficiently during busy periods
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and professional demeanor
• Basic math skills for cash handling, giving correct change, and managing sales transactions accurately
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends or holidays if needed
• Prior experience in coffee or beverage preparation is a plus
