Barista - Full Time

Position Summary

The barista is responsible for serving all products with friendly, individualized attention towards each customer. He/she is also responsible for educating customers about our various drinks and foods. The barista fulfills any other duties the manager or shift supervisor assigns and represents the kiosk in a professional manner.

Position Accountabilities

Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, and safety standards.

Greets all customers promptly and courteously, develops a rapport with customers by learning their names, favorite drinks and food items, demonstrating a positive “Yes we can” attitude.

Sets up drinks, foods and equipment ready for service.

Sets up and serves food in accordance with established sanitation guidelines and cleaning schedule.

Maintains the highest quality, consistent product standards, following drink recipes and procedures.

Properly transports items between main NHS kitchen and kiosk area.

Replenishes and rotates food and beverage items.

Cleans the work area, coffee urns and utensils throughout the day and at the end of day using appropriate cleaning solutions.

Ensures all dishes and utensils are cleaned, air dried, and stored correctly.

Wipes off counters and tables; arranges, rearranges, and replenishes items as needed.

Collects, processes, and disposes of trash, cans, bottles, and similar debris and transports to disposal area.

Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies, notifying supervisor of equipment failure and needed equipment.

Accurately rings sales transactions into cash register system in a courteous and friendly manner.

Balances register at end of shift as required, accurately completes register log.

Maintains department refrigerator temperatures sheets, sanitation reports, food temperatures and other files as required.

Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, developing an understanding of safe food handling, and enhancing menu variety.

Participates in in-service meetings, and workshops.

Attends meetings as required, and checks hospital emails on a regular basis per hospital policy.

Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Education - High School, ability to read and write, count money

Minimum Experience - On-The-Job Training

Required Certification/Registration - Food Handlers Permit

Preferred Education - High School or equivalent or above
