Pay: Starting at $16.50 per hour, plus tips. (This is a tip-eligible position with gross compensation expected in the $20+ per hour range.)

Position Summary

We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as Baristas. This role is the face of Moonrise Bagels, responsible for delivering an outstanding guest experience through superior product quality, welcoming hospitality, and quick service. Baristas must possess a friendly, positive attitude, a passion for great food and coffee, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

This position reports to the Shift Leads and the General Manager.

Key Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Exceptional Guest Service & Hospitality
  • Welcome every guest with genuine warmth, serving as a positive brand ambassador for Moonrise Bagels.
  • Accurately take customer orders and handle all transactions using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
  • Actively share the brand story and product details, getting customers interested and excited about the Stuffed Bagels and espresso program.
  • Resolve minor guest issues quickly and professionally, escalating complex issues to the Shift Lead.
  • Product Quality & Preparation
  • Prepare and serve all coffee and espresso beverages to the highest standards of quality and consistency.
  • Assemble and prepare all food items accurately and efficiently, following established recipes and presentation guidelines.
  • Maintain a deep knowledge of all menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods to answer guest questions confidently.
  • Support & Compliance
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation and dining area throughout the shift.
  • Adhere to all company policies regarding cash handling, safety, and health standards.
  • Assist with restocking inventory, labeling, and other organizational tasks as directed by the Shift Lead.
  • Communicate operational, product, and facility issues to the Shift Lead or management promptly.

Requirements

  • Prior hospitality or food service experience preferred.
  • Full-time and part-time availability; early mornings and weekends required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills—you must genuinely enjoy interacting with the public.
  • Reliable with a commitment to punctuality and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Fluent in English.

Pay: $16.50 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 38 per week
