Cross-Trained Barista / Cook

The Cross-Trained Barista / Cook supports daily café operations by preparing and serving food and beverages while providing warm, welcoming customer service. This role is cross-trained in both barista and kitchen duties and supports the mission of the Basilica and the Diocese of Orlando.

All employees are expected to uphold the Church’s core values of Authenticity, Respect, Courage, and Commitment, and to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the teachings and mission of the Catholic Church.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, and food items
• Greet customers and provide excellent hospitality
• Operate café and kitchen equipment safely
• Process POS transactions and handle cash
• Maintain cleanliness and follow health and safety standards
• Assist with opening/closing duties, events, and catering as needed

Qualifications:

• Experience in coffee shop or food service preferred
• Willingness to be cross-trained as both barista and cook
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Respect for and appreciation of the Catholic faith and Church mission

Schedule & Physical Requirements:

• Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 35 lbs
