Summary

Duties and responsibilities related to the Bartender role:

  • Expertly prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including classic cocktails, signature creations, mocktails, premium spirits, wines, and coffees.
  • Maintain a thorough and current knowledge of all menu items, including ingredients and preparation methods, to answer guest inquiries accurately.
  • Ensure all drinks are prepared with precision, consistency, and a high standard of presentation, adhering to recipe specifications.
  • Create bespoke beverages based on guest preferences and available ingredients.
  • Welcome and engage with a diverse, international clientele in a professional and friendly manner, creating a memorable bar experience.
  • Provide attentive service by taking orders promptly, offering recommendations, and upselling premium products.
  • Anticipate guest needs and ensure their satisfaction by checking on them regularly.
  • Handle all guest payments and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the bar area, countertops, equipment, and storage areas at all times, adhering to HACCP and hotel standards.
  • Manage bar inventory by conducting regular stock-takes, monitoring stock levels, preparing requisition orders, and minimizing waste and spoilage.
  • Ensure all bar equipment is in proper working order and report any malfunctions immediately.
  • Monitor guest alcohol consumption responsibly, identify signs of intoxication, and refuse service when necessary in a diplomatic manner.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal grooming and professional appearance in accordance with hotel policy.
  • Work collaboratively with other F&B team members, including waiters and kitchen staff, to ensure seamless service.

Qualifications

  • Ideally with a relevant degree or diploma in Hospitality or Tourism management
  • Minimum 2 years work experience in hotel operations
  • Good customer service, communications and interpersonal skills are a must
