Job Summary:

Gokulam Grand Trivandrum is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and professional Bartender to join our talented team. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests by preparing and serving a variety of beverages in a high-end five-star hotel environment. Your role is crucial in ensuring a positive and memorable experience for all our patrons.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bartender Operations:
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, following hotel standards and guest preferences.
  • Create and serve a variety of cocktails, mixed drinks, and signature beverages with consistency and attention to detail.
  • Ensure the bar area is clean, well-stocked, and organized at all times, including replenishing garnishes, napkins, and glassware.
  • Guest Interaction & Service:
  • Greet guests warmly and ensure a friendly and engaging atmosphere at the bar.
  • Offer personalized beverage recommendations based on guest preferences, while maintaining a high level of guest satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to take orders, address concerns, and make sure they have an excellent experience.
  • Ensure prompt and accurate service during high-volume times.
  • Cash Handling & Transactions:
  • Handle cash and process transactions accurately using the hotel’s Point of Sale (POS) system.
  • Process guest bills, maintain accurate tab records, and ensure proper billing for each order.
  • Inventory & Stock Management:
  • Monitor bar stock levels and inform management when supplies are low, ensuring that the bar is always fully stocked with necessary ingredients and beverages.
  • Assist with inventory control and regular stocktaking as per the hotel's requirements.
  • Health & Safety Compliance:
  • Ensure that all alcoholic beverages are served responsibly, in compliance with local laws and hotel regulations.
  • Adhere to all health and safety standards, including maintaining proper hygiene, cleanliness, and following safety guidelines when preparing and serving drinks.
  • Monitor guest consumption and intervene if necessary, ensuring the safety and well-being of all patrons.
  • Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the bar team, kitchen staff, and service team to ensure smooth and efficient service.
  • Provide assistance in setting up the bar for events or special occasions.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment and assist colleagues during busy periods.
  • Event and Special Occasion Support:
  • Prepare and serve beverages for special events, private functions, and hotel-organized parties or gatherings.
  • Support and assist in the preparation and breakdown of the bar setup for these events.
  • Training & Development:
  • Stay informed about new trends in the beverage and cocktail industry to enhance the hotel’s beverage menu.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance bartending skills and product knowledge.
  • Train and mentor new or junior bartenders as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience: Minimum 0.6-2 years of bartending experience, preferably in a five-star hotel or high-end hospitality setting.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of cocktail preparation, drink recipes, and bar operations. Proficiency in POS systems.
  • Customer Service: Exceptional guest service skills with the ability to engage with guests, make recommendations, and ensure satisfaction.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work well within a team environment while maintaining individual accountability.
  • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail in drink preparation, presentation, and cleanliness.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to interact with diverse guests and colleagues.
  • Health & Safety: Familiarity with local laws and regulations regarding alcohol service, as well as hygiene and safety standards.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by hotel operations.

Desirable Skills & Certifications:

  • Bartender Certification: Certification or formal bartending training is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of Wine & Spirits: A good understanding of various wines, spirits, and beverages.
  • Language Skills: Knowledge of additional languages is a plus, particularly English, Hindi, and Malayalam.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹240,000.00 - ₹264,000.00 per year
