Sea Watch on the Ocean is a high-volume, beachfront restaurant with over 50 years of history in South Florida. We are seeking a professional, energetic Upstairs Bartender to join our team.

This position is located upstairs and requires strong multitasking ability, polished hospitality skills, and the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.

Position Overview

The Upstairs Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages accurately and efficiently while delivering exceptional guest service. During certain shifts, bartenders are also responsible for bar tables and balcony tables, providing full-service dining in addition to beverage service.

We are looking for individuals who can work independently while also contributing positively within a team environment.

Physical Requirements (Non-Negotiable)

This role is located upstairs and requires:

  • Ability to climb stairs repeatedly throughout an 6–12 hour shift
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 pounds (cases of liquor, kegs, ice bins, etc.)
  • Ability to work in outdoor and balcony conditions (heat, humidity, wind)
  • Ability to move quickly and safely in a high-volume setting

Scheduling Requirements

Flexible availability is required.

Must be available to work:

  • Days and nights
  • Weekends
  • Holidays
  • Peak season shifts
  • Double shifts when scheduled

Schedules are based on business needs and seasonal volume.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages using Toast POS
  • Engage guests in a professional, friendly, and energetic manner
  • Provide full table service when assigned (taking orders, delivering food, managing guest checks)
  • Upsell food and beverage items
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area
  • Restock liquor, wine, beer, garnishes, glassware, and supplies
  • Accurately handle cash and process payments
  • Monitor guest behavior and ensure responsible alcohol service
  • Follow all Florida alcohol laws and company policies
  • Complete opening and closing duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of high-volume restaurant bartending experience preferred
  • Experience using Toast or comparable POS systems preferred
  • Strong time management and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and guest service skills
  • Knowledge of responsible alcohol service and food safety standards
  • Ability to perform basic math and handle cash accurately
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Reliable and punctual

Additional Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be able to complete employment eligibility verification (I-9 documentation)
  • Employment is contingent upon completion of any applicable pre-employment screenings
