Goal of this position
- The bartender/front of house staff at Historic Barrel + Bottle - Flagstaff are to bring exceptional customer service to our patrons through extensive product knowledge, superior customer service
- Obtain an understanding of all the positions and as you master one position, will be cross trained in another area or be trained as needed.
- Become familiar with the menu, have a basic understanding of how to read tickets, communicate with the kitchen, and be able to identify proper food presentation.
- Communication with managers, supervisors and co-workers is key for the overall flow and success of the business.
- This position reports to the Restaurant Manager
Job Responsibilities
- Prepares alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons
- Prepares barista drinks with accuracy
- Interacts with customers in a friendly and helpful way
- Assesses customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
- Stays guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
- Follow recipes and mix ingredients to prepare house cocktails
- Pours beer, wine and liquor to company and legal guidelines
- Checks customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age
- Restocks and replenish bar inventory and supplies
- Complies with all food and beverage regulations
- Keeps bar organized, clean and all items dated properly
Other Duties
- Take food and drink orders
- Deliver items to tables
- Clean table tops, center caddies, condiments on the table, booths, chairs, and ensure that the floor around the table has been swept and is available for the next group of people. Wipe down highchairs and booster seats and put them away.
- Walk around clearing any unused platers, trash or cups; keeping all tables as clean as possible. If someone spills a drink try to relocate them to a clean table, if that is not possible, clean as best as you can around the person.
- Keep a close eye on how you can accommodate the guests with basic needs such as: to-go boxes, refills on drinks, or unsatisfied customers with their food.
- Hostessing at the front door
- Follow opening and closing duties depending on your shift hours.

- All FOH Bartenders must obtain a Title 4 Liquor Basic or Managers Card and a Coconino Food Handlers Certification
Work Environment
Movement is spent in high-traffic areas while performing various tasks. The position is exposed to high energy loud music levels and lowlights for long periods of time (8+ hours)
Physical Demands
The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires the ability to walk/stand and sustain physical activity for extended periods of time (8+ hours). Requires at times high and low levels of movement with the ability to reach with arms, kneel, crouch, climb, balance, and squat. Requires the lifting of items up to 50 lbs. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Hourly position that requires a flexible schedule, often-working workdays, weekends, and holidays. Shifts normally include as early as 10 a.m. and as late as 12 p.m.
