The Oak & Ivy Taphouse is looking for an enthusiastic, hospitality-driven Bartender/Server to join our Front of House team!

Opened in November 2025, The Oak & Ivy has quickly become one of Smithfield's favorite gathering places. As we continue to grow, we're expanding our team in preparation for an exciting lineup of events, entertainment, and new projects over the coming months.

We're looking for someone who enjoys creating memorable guest experiences, thrives in a team environment, and takes pride in providing exceptional service.

Position Details

Part-Time

Current Available Schedule:

• Thursday Lunch
• Sunday Lunch & Dinner
• Two Saturday Lunch Shifts per Month

This position offers a consistent, set schedule with opportunities to pick up additional shifts as business continues to grow throughout the holiday season.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, attentive service to every guest from greeting through payment.
• Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages with consistency and quality.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately using our POS system.
• Offer menu recommendations and answer guest questions about food, beverages, and specials.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming bar and dining room.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service guidelines.
• Assist with opening, closing, stocking, and side work to keep operations running smoothly.
• Work closely with kitchen and fellow team members to deliver an outstanding dining experience.
• Help create the warm, welcoming atmosphere The Oak & Ivy is known for.

Qualifications

We're looking for someone who:

• Has previous bartending and/or serving experience (restaurant experience preferred).
• Is comfortable working in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
• Demonstrates excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Is dependable, punctual, and works well as part of a team.
• Can multitask while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Has experience using restaurant POS systems (Aloha, Micros, or similar systems is a plus).
• Understands responsible alcohol service and basic food safety practices.
• Is available to work the schedule listed above.

Pay: $21.83 - $26.29 per hour
