Double Barrel Steak at The Preserve showcases modern American steakhouse-inspired cuisine crafted by a world-renowned chef. In addition to beef steaks, and as a nod to Rhode Island’s “Ocean State” moniker, our menu features “ocean steaks,” including swordfish, halibut and tuna. In homage to The Preserve’s outdoor experiences, game meat also plays a seasonal role on the menu.
The restaurant also offers an extensive selection of wines and cocktails to complement the menu and features a rustic yet elegant décor. Ourbartenders prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, maintain the bar area, and creates positive experiences for customers.
What you will be doing:
- Prepare and Serve Drinks: Mix, garnish, and serve drinks to customers in a friendly and efficient manner. This includes both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Customer Service: Engage with customers, take orders for drinks, and provide recommendations. Create a welcoming atmosphere and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintain the Bar Area: Keep the bar clean and organized, including stocking supplies, washing glassware, and maintaining inventory.
- Handle Cash and Payments: Process transactions, operate the cash register, and handle tips accurately. Some bartenders may also be responsible for opening and closing the register.
- Monitor Alcohol Consumption: Ensure that guests are not over-served and comply with legal drinking age requirements. May involve checking IDs or refusing service if necessary.
- Prepare and Serve Food (if applicable): In some establishments, bartenders may also be responsible for preparing and serving light food items or appetizers.
- Inventory Management: Keep track of stock levels, place orders for beverages and supplies, and ensure the bar is well stocked.
- Cleanliness and Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including wiping down surfaces, cleaning equipment, and ensuring all health and safety standards are met.
Rate of Pay: $12-$15/hr + Tips (hourly rate based on experience)

Education and Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
- Work in a busy restaurant setting, may also be required to work in an outdoor setting as needed in various weather conditions.
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods.
- Hours include evenings and weekends.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
