The Bartender is responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service while creating a welcoming, engaging, and energetic bar atmosphere. This role includes greeting guests, taking food and beverage orders, preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and delivering food items with accuracy and efficiency. The Bartender must demonstrate mastery of classic and basic cocktails, maintain strong product knowledge, and ensure all guests receive attentive, courteous, and professional service.

The position requires the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure, accuracy, and hospitality standards. Bartenders are also responsible for verifying guest identification to ensure compliance with legal drinking age requirements and maintaining responsible alcohol service at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel, bar, or related hospitality field preferred
  • Proven knowledge and execution of classic and contemporary cocktails required
  • Alcohol Awareness Certification (must comply with State regulations)
  • Food Handlers Certification (must comply with State regulations)
  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly and effectively
  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations while maintaining professionalism

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Comply at all times with Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
  • Comply with all certification requirements as applicable to the position (Alcohol Awareness, Food Handlers, Safety, etc.)
  • Maintain full knowledge of bar menu offerings including cocktails, beer, wine, spirits, and food items
  • Demonstrate mastery of classic cocktails and the ability to execute recipes with consistency, speed, and precision
  • Greet guests promptly in a warm, friendly, and professional manner; create an engaging and hospitable bar environment
  • Take and deliver food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently for both bar guests and service tickets
  • Prepare and serve beverages according to established recipes, presentation standards, and portion controls
  • Verify guest identification in compliance with local and state alcohol laws
  • Monitor guest consumption and practice responsible alcohol service at all times
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper stocking of the bar, including glassware, garnishes, and tools
  • Ensure bar top, service wells, and surrounding areas are kept clean, sanitized, and guest-ready at all times
  • Be proficient in the operation of the P.O.S. system
  • Perform cashiering functions including closing checks and completing end-of-shift reports
  • Execute opening and closing procedures and complete all assigned side work
  • Assist with clearing and resetting bar and lounge areas as needed
  • Maintain awareness of the overall restaurant and lounge operations and support team members as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager
