Bartender/Floor Manager

Bartender / Floor Manager

Cork Wine Bar & Market — Washington, DC

Cork Wine Bar & Market is an award-winning neighborhood wine destination built around small producers, thoughtful food, and genuine hospitality. With over 50 wines by the glass, a 250+ bottle list, and a growing program of tastings, classes, and private events, we are committed to making wine approachable without sacrificing depth or integrity.

We are currently seeking a Bartender / Floor Manager who brings both technical skill and a passion for hospitality—someone equally comfortable crafting a precise cocktail and guiding a guest through a wine list with confidence.

This role is ideal for a hospitality professional with a strong foundation in bartending and a working knowledge of wine, particularly classic Old World regions, who is motivated to continue developing within a service-driven, education-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver attentive, thoughtful service across both bar and floor
  • Execute classic and house cocktails with consistency and precision
  • Guide guests through the wine list, including Old World regions and producers
  • Provide full-spectrum wine service: by-the-glass, bottle presentation, and curated flights
  • Support pairing-driven service alongside the kitchen
  • Assist with retail sales and guest bottle selection
  • Participate in tastings, classes, and private events
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional service environment
  • Collaborate closely with the team to ensure seamless service

Qualifications

  • Proven bartending experience with strong fundamentals
  • Foundational wine knowledge; familiarity with France, Italy, Spain, and other Old World regions preferred
  • Confidence in guest interaction and the ability to tailor recommendations
  • Strong multitasking skills and composure in a fast-paced setting
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and team-focused
  • Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays

What We Value

  • A hospitality-driven mindset and natural ability to connect with guests
  • Curiosity and a commitment to ongoing wine education
  • The ability to communicate complex ideas in an approachable way
  • Professionalism, consistency, and attention to detail

What We Offer

  • Competitive hourly compensation plus tips
  • Ongoing wine education and staff tastings
  • Employee discounts on wine and retail
  • A collaborative, supportive team environment
  • Opportunities for growth within a respected and evolving wine program

If you’re looking to grow within a serious wine program while working in a dynamic, guest-focused environment, we’d love to connect.
