Job Summary

We are seeking a Basketball Academy Coach with proven experience in basketball academies or clubs. This role combines on-court coaching with academy operations, ensuring smooth delivery of programs, strong parent engagement, and alignment with Abu Issa Sports’ long-term vision. The coach will play a key role in daily academy operations, youth player development, and program execution across training, camps, and competitions.

Key Responsibilities Coaching & Player Development

· Design and deliver engaging training sessions for players aged 6–18, tailored to varying skill levels.

· Teach and develop basketball fundamentals, advanced techniques, and tactical awareness.

· Conduct player assessments, track progress, and provide individual feedback.

· Ensure training is aligned with the academy’s structured curriculum and values.

Game & Competition Preparation

· Prepare players and teams for internal games, leagues, and tournaments.

· Develop and implement game strategies; provide in-game coaching and adjustments.

· Review game performances and share constructive feedback.

Academy Operations & Management Support

· Assist in planning and executing academy operations including schedules, camps, events, and tournaments.

· Support logistical tasks such as equipment setup, facility coordination, and session organization.

· Represent Abu Issa Sports in dealings with parents, schools, and external partners when needed.

Communication & Relationship Building

· Build strong relationships with players, parents, and academy staff.

· Maintain a professional, supportive, and motivating environment.

· Act as a role model, instilling values of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.

Administration & Reporting

· Maintain accurate records on player attendance, performance, and development.

· Provide regular progress updates to parents and academy management.

· Contribute to refining and updating the academy’s coaching curriculum.

Requirements

· 2–3 years of proven coaching experience in a basketball academy or club environment (youth experience preferred).

· Basketball Coaching Certification (FIBA or equivalent strongly preferred).

· Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, youth development strategies, and competition preparation.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage with parents as well as motivate young athletes.

· Physically fit with the ability to demonstrate techniques.

· First Aid/CPR certification preferred.

· Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: QAR100.00 per hour

Expected hours: 6 – 8 per week
