Position Summary:
A Business Development Manager is responsible for overseeing the implementation of business objectives amongst their company’s sales, marketing, and business development professionals. Their duties include comparing current sales numbers to desired quotas, delegating sales and marketing tasks among team members and meeting with upper management to discuss their progress.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain client relationships and identify areas for potential clients.
- Contact potential clients to establish a business relationship and meet with them.
- Identify, qualify, and introduce new client prospects to HIPOWER products.
- Research the latest in the business industry and create new opportunities to expand business.
- Collaborate with sales and design team to ensure requirements are met, such as sales numbers and profit
- goals.
- Strong understanding of company products or services as well as business position and competition, to keep
- business competitive.
- Develop new sales areas and improve sales through various methods.
- Initiate onboarding steps and track the progress of each step.
- Work with the management team to develop client goals, prepare/receive signed contract.
- Participate in formal quarterly review sessions with assigned clients.
- Assess all assigned client needs and work with internal operations and production teams to:
- Develop solutions and pricing.
- Present technical recommendation(s) with supporting specs, drawings, and pricing
- Close opportunities and process orders through our internal SAP system
- Manage and track orders, attend status meetings, and provide weekly updates to clients.
- Keep the SAP system accurate.
- Oversee orders throughout their lifespan & provide knowledgeable, prompt support.
- Prepare shipping documents and coordinate coordination for outbound shipping.
- Advise and escalate any concerns to management throughout the order lifespan.
- Prepare materials and conduct sales and technical training for dealer partners.
- Provide input on HIPOWER data sheets, CAD drawings, and marketing brochures.
- Develop and update sales and technical training materials as needed.
- Travel and interface with dealers and national accounts to ensure needs are being met.
- Coordinate travel for assigned dealer and national account factory tours.
- Attending and participating in tradeshow; develop special sales materials as needed.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Quality Management System
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Competences, Skills, and Abilities:
- Associate degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, HVAC-R Technology, Industrial Controls, preferred.
- 2+ years of sales engineering experience, customer support, and/or working manufacturing line.
- Experience in the power generation industry
- Medium level of Microsoft Office suite software
- SAP experience, preferred.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines with a keen sense of urgency.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with a history of successful collaborative engagement
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with technical writing and training experience
- Attention to detail & problem-solving in a demanding environment with good judgement.
- Ability to collaborate with people from all walks of life in a positive, motivating, respectful way.
- Be dependable and accountable to support customers across different time zones.

- Required to talk and hear. The teammate is sitting in an office environment most of the time; frequently moves around the workstation/area and production floor, using PPE all the time; positions self to access different areas and angles of the product being assembled, including stooping, bending, and crouching.
- Lifts, pushes/pulls, carries, or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 15 lbs. on an occasional basis.
- Sitting for extended periods of time.
- Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) usage at the factory.
- Frequently use hands and fingers to handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms to operate office equipment and or move parts/equipment.
- Visual acuity is necessary to do the job safely and effectively. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision work to perform inspections and in reading schematics, peripheral, profundity, blueprints, and instructions.
- Must be able to distinguish and ensure product quality in a fast-paced production environment.
- Must be able to identify, prioritize, and meet multiple expectations for area of responsibility.
Work Environment:
- This position works in an office environment and sometimes needs to access the production floor, a non-airconditioned/heated warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and some exposure to dust, noise, fumes, and gases.
- Must be able to travel up to 75% of the time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
