We’re Hiring | BDM GeM Sales at Cockatoo Fitness

Cockatoo Fitness, one of India’s top 3 Amazon sellers in the Sports & Fitness category, is looking for a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to lead our Government Sales vertical, and is responsible for identifying and securing government contracts through the GeM (Government e-Marketplace) portal & other E-Tendering (States) portals by tracking opportunities, engaging with government agencies, developing proposals, and managing the sales process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Government Sales & Tender Management
  • Identify government clients and new business opportunities through the GeM (Government e-Marketplace) portal.
  • Identify, bid for, and manage government tenders across departments.
  • Ensure timely submission of bids, documentation, and compliance with tender requirements.
  • Client Relationship Management
  • Establish and maintain strong productive relationships with government officials and procurement officers.
  • Regularly meet with government officials to present company offerings, propose solutions, and build long-term associations.
  • Lead Generation & Business Growth
  • Actively seek new business opportunities within the government sector, including state and central government agencies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as technical, finance, and others to tailor solutions according to government requirements.
  • Strategic Planning & Reporting
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue from government clients.
  • Track sales performance, prepare regular reports for senior management.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 4-5 years of proven experience in government sales or business development, preferably handling departments.
  • Hands-on experience with the GeM portal and Government E-Procurement processes is a must.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills to secure deals and manage partnerships.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate/Postgraduate in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in government sales, procurement, or working with government agencies.
  • Knowledge of documentation, compliance, and formalities involved in government tenders.
