Join us as a Beer & Wine Associate and help maintain a well-stocked, compliant, and welcoming department while delivering excellent service and supporting store-wide operations.
Provide knowledgeable, courteous customer service by answering questions and offering basic product information or suggestions.
Ensure compliance with alcohol regulations, including proper age verification and adherence to all state laws.
Stock beer and wine shelves efficiently using proper rotation to maintain freshness and accuracy.
Label and date all products according to department standards and state requirements.
Monitor product levels and communicate low inventory or ordering needs to department leadership.
Assist in building and maintaining attractive displays that support promotions, seasonal features, and merchandising goals.
Check for expired or damaged products and process them according to department policies.
Reduce shrink through consistent monitoring of expiration dates and careful product handling.
Maintain organized work areas, displays, and floor sets to support safety and efficiency.
Participate in quarterly inventory counts and support accurate product recordkeeping.
Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to engage professionally and courteously.
Interest in beer and wine products and a willingness to learn more about regional and specialty offerings.
Strong work ethic, teamwork, and reliability.
Self-motivation and accountability for completing assigned tasks.
Ability to learn quickly, build relationships, and maintain positive interpersonal communication.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Sound judgment when handling routine concerns and escalating issues as needed.
Clear, respectful, and timely communication with peers and leadership.
Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and varied schedules.
One year of alcohol-related, restaurant, or hospitality experience preferred.
Wine and beer certifications preferred but not required.
Minimum age of 18 years old to sell or handle alcohol per state law.
This role requires the ability to work in a grocery store environment with prolonged standing or sitting and occasional bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and twisting. You must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs., operate equipment requiring repetitive hand movements and fine coordination, and communicate clearly with customers and staff. Climbing step stools or ladders, repetitive arm and hand motions, and reaching above the shoulders or horizontally are required when stocking or retrieving products. Proper PPE must be used when necessary.
Work is performed primarily in a busy grocery store with frequent customer interaction, continuous movement, and an emphasis on teamwork, safety, and communication.
