Responsibilities

  • Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, sportsmanship, and social interaction
  • Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management techniques to maintain a positive environment
  • Assist with homework help, tutoring sessions, or educational projects tailored to individual student needs
  • Coordinate with parents, teachers, and other staff to support each child's development and address any concerns
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of activity areas, ensuring compliance with safety standards including first aid procedures
  • Support children in extracurricular activities such as sports coaching, theater arts, or special education programs

Skills

  • Strong classroom management skills to foster a respectful and disciplined environment
  • Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development best practices
  • Experience working with children in daycare, camp settings, babysitting, or tutoring roles
  • Ability to perform first aid and respond effectively in emergency situations
  • Familiarity with special education needs and behavior management strategies
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members
  • Passion for working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities; experience in Christian counseling or similar supportive roles is a plus
