There is currently one (1) Behavioral Health Clinical Supervisor position vacancy overseeing the Adult System of Care (ASOC) team in the Behavioral Health branch of Health and Human Services Agency.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs functions consisting of any combination of licensed or certified clinicians/counselors, unlicensed clinicians/counselors, and para-professional staff in clinical casework techniques, methodologies, and level of care determinants.
Performs specialized treatment planning and diagnostic services for clients; performs intake assessments; provides psychotherapy services, including direct and indirect services.
Supervises, reviews, and provides guidance to assigned staff and/or interns in, but not limited to, individual staff assignments, work progress, and case management.
Makes recommendations regarding treatment methods and the provision of services to meet client needs.
Monitors and evaluates program performance in order to meet program goals and objectives, including monitoring compliance with productivity standards (i.e., seventy-two (72) hour case note writing requirement) and keeping client case files up to date in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
Serves as a program resource to all agency staff, clients, and community organizations.
Represents Behavioral Health branch before boards and committees, in public meetings, and to other government agencies in specific areas of assignment; serves on and/or is the staff person assigned to committees and groups involved in specific program assignments.
Participates in behavioral health and recovery services education trainings, community programs, and conferences.
Acts for the Behavioral Health Director or Deputy Director during periods of absence and provides administrative support for the Behavioral Health Director and Deputy Director.
May provide behavioral health services for sensitive or confidential cases in the absence of assigned workers or to meet workload demands.
May make referrals to appropriate professionals or outside agencies.
Documents and addresses clients' concerns and grievances as needed.
May be required to work, coordinate, or supervise on-call emergency services.
May provide Jail Based Services as needed.
May provide crisis interventions and engage in safety planning.
May testify in court for various court collaboration programs.
Performs related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, Psychiatric Nursing, or a closely related field or a master's degree from a two-year counseling program. (A qualifying master's degree from a two-year counseling program that includes a course of study with emphasis in vocational rehabilitation, family or marriage counseling, gerontology, or a closely related field. Qualifying two-year counseling degree programs must include an internship ?r supervised fieldwork and completion of approximately 45 semester or 7 quarter units of graduate-level coursework. Completion of all the requirements for a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license program may be substituted upon submission of verifying proof.) A copy of your Master's degree or college transcript MUST be attached to your application.
Experience:
One (1) year of full-time experience performing advanced journey level social work case management duties comparable to those of a Social Worker IV or Mental Health Clinician.
Additional Requirements:
Possession of a valid and current Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW), Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) while employed in this classification. Ideal candidates will possess and maintain [or obtain within two (2) years of hire, transfer, or promotion] a valid and current licensed status through the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). A copy of your valid license, associate/registrant license from the State of California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners MUST be attached to your application.

Principles and practices for services to clients with serious mental illness (SMI) and recovery administration, including therapeutic treatment methods, prevention and treatment procedures of SMI and Substance Use Disorders.
The Lanterman-Petris-Short (LPS) Act, the Short-Doyle Act, and other laws and regulations regarding the delivery of behavioral health and recovery services.
State, Federal, and local California laws and regulations governing behavioral health services; roles and responsibilities of a health services agency worker.
Local, state, and federal resources and organizations related to behavioral health care, including resources available in the Mariposa community for referral or utilization in employment, housing resources, and other human services programs.
Clinical standards of practice and licensure requirements.
Principles and practice of direct client service delivery and casework concepts, including techniques of clinical interviewing, diagnostic methods, and terminology, treatment, and recordkeeping.
Most current version of the Diagnosis and Statistical Manual (DSM) of Mental Disorders; Psychopathology, the different types of mental illness diagnoses, how mental illness affects human behavior.
Strategies and protocols surrounding crisis intervention techniques, such as voice modulation and assessing the potential for suicide.
Signs, stages, and dynamics of abuse, and the effects of abuse on children/adult development and behavior.
Signs and symptoms of alcohol and drug use/abuse in adults and children and the effects on families.
Dual recovery/co-occurring disorder treatment, screening, assessment, and level of care tools.
Principles and practices of effective supervision, training, mentoring, motivating, and peer counseling.
Principles and practices of organization, program development and management, workload management, personnel management, records management, and time management.
Principles and practices of note taking, report writing, English composition, grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
Ability to:
Interpret, apply, explain, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines, policies, rules, and regulations.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
