Job Description:

Alta View Hospital is expanding its Behavioral Health services and developing a comprehensive program from the ground up. The Behavioral Health Access Center Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership, shaping workflows, building high-performing teams, and fostering a culture of excellence. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing crisis teams and patient navigators, ensuring accurate evaluations, and coordinating placement decisions. Additionally, the manager will maintain 24/7 staffing coverage, drive quality standards, and collaborate across departments to influence strategic initiatives. As a key member of the hospital leadership team, this position plays a critical role in delivering compassionate, patient-centered care and guiding individuals toward improved well-being in a safe, supportive environment.

Essential Functions

  • Manages clinical functions of behavioral health crisis services in the emergency department, access/crisis center, inpatient therapy services, and through telehealth.
  • Responsible for department operations including the KPI's, staffing models, budgeting, purchasing, recruitment and retention, financial performance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates the effectiveness of department services to improve patient access, patient experience, safety, quality, and stewardship.
  • Effectively communicates with caregivers and other stakeholders to ensure effective operations and promote positive employee relations.
  • Responds to patient and family concerns in a supportive and sensitive manner. Takes immediate action to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Acts as a resource and provides education on clinical issues using knowledge of age-specific learning principles and appropriate teaching skills to promote high quality care.
  • Hires, orients, and maintains a competent clinical staff. Complies with regulatory agencies and corporate policies for employment practices.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Social Work or related field. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.
  • Current State Licensure as LCSW.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer Skills, i.e., email, word processing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three Years of experience working in a mental health environment.
  • One year of experience in psychiatry crisis assessment.
  • Management experience.
  • Proven leadership experience with strong crisis management skills.
  • Ability to build engaged teams and foster collaboration across departments to deliver exceptional patient care.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
