POSITION TITLE: BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN

DEPARTMENT: Direct Care / Tech

REPORTS TO: BHT Manager

Whether through counseling, peer support, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), or gender-specific programs, we offer a holistic approach to healing that encompasses the mind, body, and spirit. We are looking to add a Behavioral Health Technician to our growing team!


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • One year experience in alcohol/drug treatment and demonstrate a basic understanding of the principles of chemical dependency recovery with direct patient contact preferred
  • Candidates must possess the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations
  • Must have valid driver’s license and auto insurance (provides confirmation to be eligible for company coverage)
  • Must be able to walk within the facility and on the grounds of the facility for approximately one (1) mile per every eight (8) hour shift
  • Able to stand continuously in increments of 45 minutes to one (1) hour
  • Capable of administering CPR (certification provided if needed)
  • Must be capable of seeing and hearing activity in their surroundings constantly
  • Must be emotionally and physically capable of functioning under stressful situations
  • If recovering, two years of continuous verifiable abstinence


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, substance abuse or related subject
  • Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS), Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC) or related certification(s)
  • Active CPR certification
  • Two (2) or more years working with people in chemical dependency recovery with regular direct patient contact
