Summary:
The Behavior Technician/ABA Therapist provides Applied Behavior Analysis therapy directly to patients between the ages of 2-8 years old, who have a diagnosis of Autism or a related disorder. Therapy is conducted 1:1 or in small groups in an in-home setting or community-based setting to address interventions related to communication, socialization and skills to reduce problematic behaviors. The
Behavior Technician/ABA Therapist is supervised and trained by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
Ongoing training and supervision is provided, and all Behavior Technicians/ABA Therapist are required to obtain and maintain their credential as a Registered Behavior Technician.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED
  • Preferred: College coursework in a related field or Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Education or related field
  • Experience working with children between the ages of 2-8 or volunteering with children
  • Dependable, punctual and flexible
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly-motivated
  • Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Reliable transportation- ability to drive to client home or community-based settings
  • Preferred: ABA Experience or RBT Credentialed

Job Functions:

  • Works directly with patients implementing treatment plans and interventions recommended by

BCBA

  • Establish and maintains enthusiasm and motivation throughout therapy sessions
  • Implements ABA therapy techniques which include but are not limited to discrete trail training, natural environment training, imitation, socialization and behavior management
  • Implements individualized behavioral intervention plan to address severe maladaptive behaviors that may include aggression, elopement, hair pulling, biting, kicking, etc.
  • Works collaboratively with a team of Behavior Technicians/ABA Therapist and BCBAs
  • Monitors and records each occurrence of treatment (data collection and session summary)
  • Communicate with parents/caregivers
  • Assist patients in daily living skills such as toileting, feeding, dressing, grooming, etc. as recommended on the treatment plan/intervention
  • Attend mandatory staff meetings and trainings
  • Maintain requirements for RBT Credential (supervision log and re-ceritification)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
