Overview:
BEL AIR, CA (INTERNATIONAL SEARCH)- An ultra high net worth British family is seeking an exceptional LIVE-IN or ROTATIONAL NANNY, ideally with a British background and Norland training, to care for their delightful 2 year old daughter in a fully staffed, high profile household. This is a rare opportunity for a polished career nanny who brings impeccable standards, warmth, structure, and a strong understanding of early childhood development. The role also includes supporting the child’s early social development and etiquette as she grows toward a future educational path that may include Scottish boarding school. The family is focused on finding the right long term fit and is flexible with compensation and structure for the ideal candidate.
The child is a bright, engaging two year old who is described as intelligent, compassionate, playful, and curious. She loves animals, horses, and spending time with friends and cousins. She currently attends preschool once per week and enjoys a lifestyle filled with outdoor play, social outings, and engaging activities. She is nearly fully potty trained, sleeps consistently from approximately 8:00 PM to 7:30 AM, and typically naps for around three hours in the afternoon. She is described by her parents as joyful and easygoing, with a sweet personality and a love of pretty dresses, ribbons, and imaginative play.
This position operates as part of a two-nanny rotational team. The successful candidate will typically work Friday morning through Monday morning, with shifts beginning at approximately 8:00 AM Friday and ending at 8:00 AM Monday. The nanny will be responsible for full care of the child during working hours, including meals, play, activities, outings, bathing, bedtime support, and developmental enrichment. The child generally sleeps through the night, though the nanny will keep the monitor nearby overnight. Another nanny covers the Monday through Friday schedule. The schedule may occasionally include an additional day depending on family needs.
Daily responsibilities include preparing the child’s meals, getting her dressed and ready for the day, engaging in stimulating play and educational activities, planning outings and classes, maintaining a structured routine, and supporting social development and manners. During the child’s afternoon nap the nanny may rest or use the time as desired while remaining available with the monitor. The nanny will also be responsible for keeping the child’s bedroom, playroom, clothing, and laundry clean and organized, as well as planning healthy meals and activities.
Manners and etiquette are an important part of this role. The mother, who is British and raised in Edinburgh, places a strong emphasis on politeness, proper table etiquette, and social graces. The ideal nanny will naturally model these behaviors and reinforce them through calm, positive guidance. Excellent communication, warmth, and a polished professional presence are essential.
The family resides in a large home in Bel Air, Los Angeles, a prestigious neighborhood known for its private estates and lush surroundings. The nanny will have a private bedroom with en suite bathroom, access to a shared fully equipped staff kitchen, and use of the home gym. The household is fully staffed and includes a house manager, housekeeper, additional nannies, groundskeeper, and personal assistant. The family also has five rescue chihuahua mixes, so candidates must genuinely enjoy dogs.
Cleanliness, presentation, and professionalism are extremely important in the home. The nanny must maintain excellent hygiene and presentation standards while working alongside household staff in a collaborative environment.
Travel is a regular component of the role. The family travels to the United Kingdom two to four times per year and frequently spends time in Europe during the summer. Candidates must have a valid passport and be comfortable traveling internationally.
The ideal candidate is British or has a British accent and strong familiarity with British etiquette and social customs. Norland training is highly preferred. Candidates should be warm, composed, highly organized, developmentally knowledgeable, and comfortable working in a fully staffed, high-profile environment.
Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation is highly competitive and flexible based on experience and training. The position includes 28 days of annual leave per year and a continuing professional development allowance of $170 annually. A vehicle will be available for nursery duties, and additional transportation options such as Uber, Lyft, and Waymo are readily available. A dedicated vehicle for personal use may also be negotiable. The family is prepared to assist with visas and international relocation for the right candidate.
