The Wonderful Total Rewards’ Benefits Team is looking for an experienced Benefits professional to join our team. This role oversees and manages employee benefits programs of some of the smaller companies within the Wonderful ecosystem as well as providing administrative support to the broader Global Benefits Team.

The role will facilitate enrollment and processing of various employee benefits, manage vendors, run regular audits and reporting for these plans, ensure compliance with legal requirements, and communicate benefits information to employees.

Attention to detail, knowledge of benefits regulations, and effective communication skills are essential for success in this role. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a structured environment, enjoys solving people-related puzzles, and believes in the power of thoughtful, responsive service. You'll work closely with both internal teams and external vendors, helping to ensure our benefits processes are efficient, compliant, and centered on the employee experience.

This position will be based at our West Los Angeles, CA office. We work a hybrid schedule with an in-office requirement Monday-Wednesday and the option to work remotely on Thursday and Friday.


Job Description

  • Manage small group/company employee benefits programs including Medical, Dental, Vision, Wellness Programs, and supplemental health plans (enrollments, changes, terminations, COBRA).
  • Provide ongoing support for vendor management, including participating in regular status calls and strategic reviews, proactively driving root causes, proactively identifying areas for process improvement and assisting with implementation of new initiatives
  • Develop and maintain process documentation (including SOPs, policies, templates and communications) for benefit programs and provide recommendations for process improvement, where appropriate
  • Manage the day-to-day benefits operations and programs, including administration of current employee benefits, managing projects and implementations of new benefits and well-being vendors and programs for these small groups
  • Enter and update benefits data in HRIS and collaborate with payroll to ensure accuracy.
  • Present benefits information during new hire orientation and respond to employee questions related to eligibility, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and communicate updates and policy changes effectively.
  • Assist with the open enrollment processes beyond the small group plans
  • Assist with ad hoc support, as needed (e.g. vendor implementation)
  • Reconcile benefit invoices and process payments across a variety of benefit vendors and plans.
  • Audit and validate day-to-day management of the Benefits Administration system against payroll and other systems across a broad set of programs based on set processes
  • Execute regular compliance reporting across all plans (e.g. ACA tracking and reporting, state filings, NQTL audits, etc.)

Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in benefits administration or benefits specialization within human resources
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of federal and state laws related to employee benefits and leaves
  • Comfortable juggling time sensitive-tasks and multiple projects
  • Experience with HRIS and benefits administration platforms
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of discretion and respect for confidentiality
  • Capability to exercise sound judgment and work well under pressure to effectively manage priorities and meet timelines and deliverables
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus

Pay Range: $90,000 - $105,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
