A DAY IN THE LIFE:

Looking for a seasoned Benefits professional/consultant with functional management experience, able to step in swiftly and take on tasks independently, providing regular updates to the Benefits Manager and Director.

The Benefits Consultant at Tandem is also responsible for:

  • Implementation and stabilization of new carve-out pharmacy plan

  • Provide strong support to Benefits team with:

    • Open Enrollment and ACA (self-funded) activities within Workday

    • 401k administration, including annual true-up, annual testing, 5500 filing, match increase communications and program updates

    • RFP and implementation of new wellness platform

    • Kick-off of new LOA administrator implementation

    • Section 125 non-discrimination testing and year-end adjustments

    • Compliance and reporting requirements throughout the duration of the assignment, in coordination with broker team

    • Broker and vendor communication liaison

    • General benefits administration tasks, as assigned

WHEN & WHERE YOU’LL WORK:

This position is fully remote and open to candidates within the United States. Equipment for the role will be provided and training will occur virtually. Please note that this is a temporary position, with employment duration from October 2025 through February 2026.

This position has a schedule of standard business hours: 8am - 5pm PST.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant HR benefits experience

  • Strong experience with ERISA, COBRA, FMLA/CFRA, and other related state and federal regulations

  • Strong experience with implementation & management of self-funding medical plans and carve-out pharmacy plans

  • Experience with the benefits module of Workday

  • Experience working in an agile delivery environment

EXTRA AWESOME:

  • Experience in a high volume, fast-paced medical device, biotech, or pharmaceutical environment preferred

COMPENSATION:

The starting base pay range for this position is $50.00 - $75.00 per hour. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate’s location and the overall job market.

YOU SHOULD KNOW:
