Benefits Consultant – Boston, MA
We are seeking a talented Benefits Consultant to join a leading financial services firm in Boston. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping an exceptional employee experience by supporting and optimizing the company’s health, welfare, and wellness programs. You will partner across HR and business functions to ensure seamless benefits delivery, data accuracy, and continuous process improvement.
This is a 6+ month contract opportunity that will pay $55-$60/hour (depending on experience). On-site presence is required Tuesday – Thursday.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day administration of health and welfare plans — including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and supplemental benefits — ensuring accuracy and a best-in-class employee experience.
  • Conduct system audits (daily, weekly, and project-based) to proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Process and track benefits-related claims and invoices, such as life insurance claims and premium billing.
  • Collaborate with the benefits team to test systems, troubleshoot configuration issues, and recommend process enhancements.
  • Contribute to the coordination and delivery of wellness and health promotion initiatives that engage and inspire employees.
  • Prepare data and documentation for plan audits, compliance reviews, and reporting requirements.
  • Analyze and report on key benefits metrics — from utilization to cost trends — to help guide strategic decisions.
  • Partner on special projects and continuous improvement efforts within the benefits team.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in employee benefits administration across mid-size to large organizations.
  • Broad knowledge of health, welfare, retirement, and leave programs.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
  • Proven success in streamlining and automating benefits processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with a customer-first mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); Workday experience is a plus.
