The Benefits Coordinator plays a key role within the Human Resources department by administering employee benefits and supporting workers’ compensation processes across our multi-state organization. This position ensures accurate benefit processing, compliance with applicable laws, and prompt, compassionate employee service.
The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, a commitment to excellence, and a genuine passion for helping others navigate their benefits and workplace support resources.
Serve as the primary point of contact for all employee benefit inquiries and issue resolution.
Coordinate benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations within HRIS and with carriers.
Manage open enrollment, benefit orientations, and communication of benefit plans and updates.
Audit payroll and benefits data for accuracy and compliance.
Collaborate with vendors and brokers to resolve claims and coverage issues.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of benefit plan design, eligibility rules, and regulatory compliance (ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, etc.).
Workers’ Compensation Support
Coordinate and manage workers’ compensation claims across all states of operation.
Ensure timely reporting, communication, and coordination with insurance carriers, leadership, and employees.
Track and analyze claim trends and support safety and return-to-work initiatives.
Maintain accurate and confidential employee benefit and injury records.
Support HR projects and process improvements related to benefits, wellness, and employee engagement.
Assist with audits, compliance documentation, and HR communications.

Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred, not required.

Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in benefits administration and/or workers’ compensation management, preferably in a healthcare or multi-location organization.

Certification: SHRM-CP or equivalent certification preferred, not required.

Strong understanding of employee benefits and general HR practices.

Experience with HRIS systems (Paycom experience preferred).
